Walking the Narrow Path
365 Daily Devotions to Draw You One Step Closer to God
One Day. One Truth. One Step Closer to Jesus.
Following Jesus is not always the easy path.
Sometimes He calls us to obey when others compromise.
Sometimes He calls us to trust when we cannot see the way ahead.
Sometimes He calls us to surrender something we want to keep.
Walking the Narrow Path contains 365 numbered devotions designed to challenge your faith and draw you closer to God.
Many devotions begin with one simple word.
One word.
One spiritual truth.
One question:
What is God saying to me?

Is Your Faith Changing the Way You Live?
It is possible to attend church but still follow our own way.
We can read the Bible but ignore what God says.
We can pray but refuse to surrender.
We can know about Jesus without walking closely with Him.
Jesus never called us to comfortable Christianity.
He called us to follow Him.
The narrow path is not always easy.
It requires faith.
Obedience.
Surrender.
Courage.
And a daily decision to follow Jesus.
Walking the Narrow Path was written to help you stop, examine your heart, listen to God, and take your next step with Him.
Following Jesus is more than something we believe. It is the way we live.
Sometimes One Word Can Change the Direction of Your Day
Many devotions in Walking the Narrow Path begin with one simple word.
Way.
Lure.
Dew.
Trouble.
Hearing.
Sting.
Today.
Words.
Fear.
Prayer.
Silent.
Love.
One word becomes the starting point for a spiritual truth.
The devotion then takes that ordinary word and turns your attention toward God.
Some words will encourage you.
Some will comfort you.
Some will challenge you.
Others may expose something in your heart that needs to change.
But each one has a purpose:
To make you stop, think, listen, and take another step with Jesus.
Is Walking the Narrow Path for You?

Open the book. Read. Listen. Respond. Take the next step.
Jesus Said There Are Two Paths
Jesus said:
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction... Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life.” — Matthew 7:13–14 NKJV
The broad path is easy to find.
The narrow path requires a choice.
Following Jesus means choosing His way over our way.
His truth over popular opinion.
Obedience over comfort.
Faith over fear.
Surrender over control.
Jesus never promised that following Him would always be easy.
But He promised something far greater.
Life with Him.
Every day gives us another opportunity to choose which path we will walk.

Day 1
Lord, Way.
The world often says:
“I want it my way.”
We can seek advice and still refuse wisdom.
We can become so determined to follow our plans that we stop listening to God.
But our way is not always the right way.
God's way is pure.
God's way is holy.
God's way leads to life.
And that way is Jesus.
Today, the question is simple:
Will I choose my way—or His way?
What is God saying to me?
Take a moment.
Be still.
Ask God to show you where you may be choosing your own way instead of His.
Then surrender that part of your life to Him.
Lord, I choose Your way.
One Word Can Make You Stop
Way.
Which way am I walking?
Fear.
What am I allowing to control me?
Words.
Am I building people up or tearing them down?
Prayer.
Am I trusting God's will or demanding mine?
Silent.
Do I know when to speak and when to be still?
Love.
Does the way I live show the love of Christ?
The word may be simple.
But the question it raises can reach deep into your heart.
Sometimes God can use one word to make us examine an entire area of our lives.
Don't Just Read. Respond.
At the end of the devotions, you will see a simple question:
What is God saying to me?
Do not rush past it.
Stop.
Think.
Pray.
Write.
Ask yourself:
What did this devotion show me?
Is there something I need to change?
Is there something I need to confess?
Is there something God wants me to trust?
Is there someone I need to forgive?
Is there something I need to do?
A devotional becomes much more valuable when you move from reading truth to responding to truth.
Read it. Think about it. Then live it.
Take Your Next Step
You do not have to change your entire life today.
Take one step.
Read one devotion.
Think about one truth.
Answer one question.
Obey what God shows you.
Then tomorrow, take another step.
That is how a walk happens.
One step at a time.

Why I Wrote Walking the Narrow Path
I did not want to write a devotional that people would simply read and forget.
I wanted each day to make us stop and think.
Sometimes that begins with one word.
Sometimes with a person from the Bible.
Sometimes with a Scripture passage.
Sometimes with a biblical truth we may have overlooked.
But each devotion brings us back to the same question:
What is God saying to me?
My prayer is that these pages will strengthen your faith, deepen your understanding of God's Word, and draw you closer to Him.
Following Jesus is a daily walk.
And every day gives us another opportunity to choose the narrow path.
